This one mainly consists of darker coloured horn

Stamped with silver marks of the Imperial crown and crescent moon for Germany and a purity stamp of 925 (the same purity of British sterling silver)

These models had lost their stands and were generally in a poor decorative state when we found them so have been re-painted and mounted on newly made polished Aluminium stands

'Staunton' Pattern Chess Set Curated_xmas23_planesboatscars Watson & Sons London datedA fine example of a classic English chess set with weighted turned and carved Boxwood and Ebony 'Staunton' pattern pieces, in a period Mahogany box with silk lining and key. Circa 1900. A few of the ebony pieces display shrinkage cracks in the turned base sections that are typical of these weighted sets. Dimensions: Height of King 10 cm 4 inches. Box 27. 25 cm 10 inches x 19 cm 7 inches x 10 cm 4 inches tall.
