This is a great way to punish opponents for casting cantrips in Legacy and large draw spells in Commander

This could easily be 12, 16 or 22 life for 4 mana

Dusknoir would suffer the same fate, except I see some possible use because it can share a line with the other Dusknoir, which already has seen fringe play

It also removes your normal draw while in play and can bleed you out should you not hit the right things in time even if you manage to get ahead or stabilize before

The value here is that it untaps on other players untap phases, giving you many more chances to activate abilities

As for the sideboard, I'm not too impressed by Illness in the Ranks and might rather just pay full price and get Curse of Death's Hold.
